Quest Newmarket - NZ Auckland Serviced Apartment Accommodation![]() ![]() ![]() plusProperty NewsWelcome to Quest Newmarket in March! March seems to have arrived at Quest Newmarket faster than usual this year. The holiday feeling was prolonged by the hot, humid weather that persisted throughout February encouraging al fresco eating and relaxed dressing. March brings with it some of the more glamorous sporting occasions – Auckland Cup Week, the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series and the Black Caps vs Australia ODI matches. So with the cruise ships still arriving in the early part of the month, expect Auckland accommodation to be as difficult to book this month as it was in February. Please book with us as early as you can. We like to look after our regulars first! It's A New Season For Fashion In Newmarket! The fashions stakes are high here in Newmarket over March. Auckland Cup Week with its “Fashion in the Field” takes high fashion to top of mind. However you don’t need to be a Fashion in the Field contestant to notice the shops have their new season ranges well and truly on display. I must say there are some very stylish garments in the windows – good colours as well. So make the most of your time here and take something home that can only be bought in Newmarket! Visit The Domain Just 5 minutes walk up Carlton Gore Road is the area of park land Aucklanders know as The Domain. If you want to take some time in the fresh air The Domain is a good place to do so. Walkers use the sealed roadway to walk around it for exercise. If it’s a hot afternoon then the bush walk is very inviting. For a stroll, take a turn around the sculptures or if you wish, enjoy the Jazz at the Band Rotunda sitting on the lawn. The sculptures are the works of well known NZ sculptors like John Edgar and Greer Twiss. For a plan and background to the artists, click here. Auckland Cup Week Although it is publicised as Auckland Cup Week its really a festival of sport and all of it takes place close to Quest Newmarket. The thoroughbreds race at the Ellerslie Race Course on the 6th, 10th and 13th. The 10th is an afternoon/evening meeting. Harness racing takes place at Alexandra Park on Friday evening 5th and 12th. Black caps vs Australia One Day Internationals at Eden Park on the 6th and 12th. Louis Vuitton Pacific Sailing Series begins on the Waitemata Harbour on the 9th. The course is set very close to shore so it’s good viewing from the beach around the bays from Mission Bay to St Heliers and parts of the road around Devonport. It’s a real buzz week! Just the sort of weekends we had in mind when we began these free weekends. The winner from those who have stayed with us over February and placed their card in the glass container on the Reception desk is Donna Green of CSL Biotherapies. From those who signed up for the newsletter on our web site, Christine Hadlow of Rotorua has been drawn. Congratulations to you both! Don’t forget you can use your voucher for the free weekend in a 1 bedroom apartment here at Newmarket or at our sister properties in Napier, Taupo or Mt Maunganui. Additional Information |
